A Lesson from Chesty Puller

Time in God's Word is Not a Grim Duty

He wrote an influential pamphlet entitled "The Game with Minutes." In it, Laubach encouraged Christians to keep God in their minds at least one second of every minute each day.

Walking in Justice, Mercy and Humility @ Work

As we actively seek to be Godly influences in our workplaces, we need to diligently seek to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our Lord. By doing so, we create a strong spiritual foundation upon which we can be discipled and disciple others.

Has God Called You Yet?

I find that quite a few men seem to ascribe to the random theory of living. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Things just seemed to fall into place?" Actually, most of us rather feel they don't (i.e. "fall into place"). Things and circumstances often seem random to us. Yet the Bible makes it clear that God has a plan for everything, though we often don't see it clearly from day to day. Throughout the Bible we do read about God calling men and women to a specific task or job. Have you ever wondered if God might be calling you? Reading Scripture with God

Many of us have been thinking about New Year's resolutions. I think they're generally a good idea, but we often don't succeed because we don't follow through on them. This week, John Eldredge reminds us of a good resolution that a lot of people have made from time to time - read the Bible more regularly. I'll add a couple of my own suggestions to his here: 1. Have a plan. (I have a couple of links to plans you might want to try at the bottom of this page.) 2. Share your plan with someone else who can help you be accountable to be persistent and follow through. 3. Team up with several men who want to reach a similar goal and encourage one another as you go. Now, take a look at what John has to say.
