What To Think About At Work

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. (Philippians 4:8)
Our days are often filled with as many tasks as we can possibly fit in often driven by a billable goal, a demanding client or a proposal that's due. We have few moments to step back and clear our minds. As a result what we think about in those moments is a strong indicator of where our life is at. What thoughts dominate those moments? What thoughts first come to mind? Philippians gives us a picture of where our minds should be. Paul, the author of Philippians, understood that what we think about will seep down inside and eventually impact our words and actions. Critical thoughts will lead to a negative personality, thankful thoughts to a gracious personality. Therefore, we need to guard our minds and a strong guard needs exercise in the Word of God. It is a lifelong process that will build a person of integrity and character.
A WORK PRAYER
Lord, You were generous and patient with the crowds even when they intruded into Your own time for rest and refreshment. Encourage me in the path of gratitude and patience and forgiveness. Amen.
