What Are You Doing With Your Speech?

The Apostle James reminds us that, "So too the tongue is a small part of the body, yet it has great pretensions. Think how small a flame sets a huge forest ablaze." (James 3:5) Dwight Hill reminds us this week that though the tongue can encourage and build up, it can also tear down, as well.

It doesn't usually happen every day, but there are times when we have to draw the line, speak out, and stand up for our Christian biblical convictions and values. Drew Crandall calls these times "defining moments." For most of us these will happen at work, where we spend the bulk of our waking hours. How do you handle those moments?

What Is Integrity?

We often talk about the various parts of life--family, church, work, friends, and recreation--in terms of departments, compartments or silos. When we do this we may fail to see and experience the unifying thread of God at work in every aspect of our life. Living an integrated life starts with recognizing that God cares about every aspect of our life. We recognize that He is involved in every facet and connects every part.
