Seek Him With All Your Heart

Maybe you've heard it, too. The Gospel changes everything. I agree. However, I wonder if we always live that way. My wife and I are working through The Truth Project together with some friends of ours. In that video study we are moved to ask one of the most important questions we can ever ask ourselves, "Do I really believe that what I believe is really real?" John Eldredge has a few words on that important question below. Ernie P.S. - Mark your calendar for the next CBMC Marketplace Ambassador breakfast at the Grill on the Hill on Tuesday, January 6. Send Me!

I share my friend Randy Kilgore's vision of thousands of missionaries going out from our churches on Sunday, out to the mission fields near their home, where they work and live - to the marketplaces of New England. They are Christ's ambassadors to the places where they work. Unfortunately many do not recognize their calling and commission. It is a Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Read on... What Is Displayed on Your Billboard?

I know a Christian business owner who led a successful trucking company for many years. As a personal ministry he would rent a billboard from time to time and have a bible verse printed on it. It was his way of communicating the message of Christ to others. He was also a faithful personal witness for Christ in his business, to his employees and personal contacts. This week's devotional describes the unique way in which all of us represent a "billboard" to others. What kind of message for Christ are those around us seeing in our workplace? Ernie

Assumptions

The first attribute of an effective Marketplace Ambassador (see 2 Corinthians 5:20) is "Walking in daily intimacy with Jesus Christ." This week's devotional from John Eldredge's writings challenges us on that very issue. The foundation of living as an effective ambassador for Christ is to have an intimate walk with Him. I'll be talking much more about this key attribute at the CBMC Marketplace Ambassador Network breakfast on Tuesday, November 15. I really hope you'll be with me for breakfast at the Green Hill Golf Course in Worcester on Tuesday, November 15. I'll be sharing some useful prescriptions on how to overcome stress and gain time for the most important things in life. Being Called

Among men devoted to the Lord and involved in a personal ministry in CBMC, the topic of conversation frequently gets around to the challenge of 2 Corinthians 5:20 - that of being an effective marketplace ambassador for Jesus Christ. We all agree that we could improve our effectiveness, and CBMC's resources are designed to help us do just that. Being Christ's ambassador where we work and live is a high calling, as this week's devotional explains... Ernie P.S. - Save the date of Tuesday, November 15 for the next CBMC Marketplace Ambassador Network breakfast. The session topic is Margin: Getting the Time You Need in a Stressed-Out World.

I Trust God, But I Am Wiped Out

The constant pressure of the modern workplace can sometimes bring us to the limits of our energy and strength. However, few of us ever reach the depths of despair that Job of the Old Testament endured. He needed help, and found strength in God. Rick Warren reminds us all of God's strength and care for us in this week's devotional. Ernie

You Want Me To Do What?

CBMC's purpose and mission can be described as, "Reaching a man right where he is and helping him to become the man God designed him to be." The beginning of the process is for a man to discover God's design for the man. My observation is that many men have some wrong ideas of the design and goals God has for us. This week's devotional from Os Hillman helps to clarify what God's design and desire genuinely is. Ernie

Fulfilling Ministry At Work

By Ed Silvoso For the Christian, true fulfillment in life can be summarized by the popular bumper sticker slogan, "Bloom where you're planted." Peter said it this way: "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another" (1 Pet. 4:10). Your greatest fulfillment in life will come when you discover your unique gifts and abilities and use them to edify others and glorify the Lord.
